He Has Done Great Things

“Come and see the works of God; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men. He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations; Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah” Psalms‬ ‭66‬:‭5‬, ‭7‬

We live in a world that constantly saps our spiritual strength with a bombardment of news of the worldly power. We hear of a political or financial leader who did this or is threaten to do that. This is inevitable as we live in a fallen world. An important part of building our faith is regularly feeding our souls with the great works of the Lord. We do this by reading the Word of God to remind ourselves of the Lord's amazing exploits of the past. We also feed our faith by reflecting on what God is doing in and through our lives today. God is doing amazing things every week if we will pause to look, listen and learn.

Listen to the testimonies of the saints around us, look into the things He is doing in our own lives, listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit in the midst of our readings. Celebrate all that the Lord is doing or has promised to do for us.

"Come and see the works of the God" is an invitation that we must RSVP in order to grow in faithin the midst of His works. May we join with the Psalmist to declare "The LORD has done great things for us, And we are glad." (Ps 126:3)
